2025 IPPE Biosecurity Measures for ASF and HPAI
The continued outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) and highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) are of great concern to our industries. The IPPE regularly adheres to good biosecurity protocols and encourages all attendees to take advantage of the biosecurity measures that will be used around the Georgia World Congress Center during the IPPE, including foot cleaning mats and hand sanitizer stations, to prevent the introduction or spread of these viruses and potentially other harmful diseases into our industries. IPPE strongly recommends that visitors remain free from contact with poultry, pigs and other livestock for a minimum of three to five days before visiting the IPPE. Additionally, as with any biosecurity plan, it is recommended that vehicles that have been on a farm be cleaned and disinfected before driving them to IPPE.
Further, research has found that the ASF virus can survive in some feed ingredients if contaminated. For that reason, IPPE will prohibit the distribution of any bulk or packaged samples of feed ingredients or additives. If you would like to display a feed ingredients or feed additives, it must be in a sealed container, and IPPE requests you follow the recommended holding times and temperatures. All display samples must be taken with you at the end of the IPPE and may not be given away to any individual.
